International Conference "Social Status and Prestige in the Roman World", 16-17 November 2012
The aim of the conference is to give new impulses to the study of Roman social status, its public visualization as well as its significance for the construction of prestige in the Roman world. Special attention will be paid to the fluctuating nature of social status, its dynamic and communicative aspects - status as a social constituent that could be conferred, usurped, maintained, raised, feigned, concealed, forgotten or lost.
